Ground Surveillance & Artillery Fire Management Radar (GSAFMR)

Military, paramilitary, security and law enforcement organizations are called upon to monitor areas of interest in support of national and homeland security, combat support, prevention of criminal activity and peacekeeping activities.

The task of monitoring areas of interest normally encompass activities known as Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR).

The data that is obtained through ISR provides the building blocks for the assembly of a situational awareness picture that forms the basis for all defense/security/law enforcement operations.

The situational awareness picture reflects the circumstances in the areas of interest, thereby enabling the defense/security/law enforcement forces to respond to any situation and manage it in accordance with the relevant doctrinal guidelines and operating procedures.

The surveillance sensor category used most extensively in the context of ISR activities is the radar system category.

ACS presents GSAFMR – Ground Surveillance & Artillery Fire Management Radar

GSAFMR is a modern X-band radar for military, HLS and law enforcement surveillance applications. It detects moving targets (persons, vehicles, naval vessels and even airborne targets) within a range of up to 60 kilometers.

In addition to its surveillance role, GSAFMR may support artillery fire management by detecting and locating the impact of artillery shells.

GSAFMR features a standard interface for integration with other systems, sensors and peripheral devices such as electro-optical surveillance sensors, plotters, printers, GPS and C4I centers.

To ensure reliable, uninterrupted operation, GSAFMR features an elaborate BIT (Built-in Test) protocol and extensive ECCM (Electronic Counter-Countermeasures).

Offering day/night and all-weather operation, automatic target detection and tracking, a rugged PC-based user interface and digital 2D/3D background maps, GSAFMR provides a clear, accurate real-time radar picture of the areas being covered, thereby enabling effective command & control of all military, security and/or law enforcement operations in those areas.
